Martin George Stephenson was born on 27 July 1961
He Formed Martin Stephenson & The Daintees n the early 1980’s with good friend, bass player Anthony Dunn.
Martin Stephenson and the Daintees music is a combination of British Rock and Folk.
They released a couple of singles on the Newcastle Kitchenware Records Label before their critically acclaimed debut album ‘Boat to Bolivia’.
Martin Stephenson and The Daintees released three more albums Gladsomem Humour & Blue, Salutation Road and the Boy’s Heart before disbanding in 1993 when Martin embarked on his solo career.
Martin Stephenson and the Daintees had 2 UK top 40 albums and spent 7 weeks in top 75.
Their best-selling and most acclaimed album is Boat to Bolivia released in 1986. In June 1989, Stephenson took part in that year’s Glastonbury Festival.
Martin began his career as a busker at the age of 15.
